Could we ever have world peace? Is it possible? I would prefer if you explained, why you think that.

Personally, I don't think, with all the violence around, whether it be a suicide bomber in Iraq, or a gang in the Bronx, I would hold my breath on it.

Its un unreasonable expectation and discounts human nature. For what it's worth, I don't hold my breath for real peace in the Middle East, either. But if we can just stop them from terrorizing the rest of us, I'll be happy.

it cant be achieved and it mustn't its the delicate balance where there is war somewhere someplace across the world there is peace. if this balance did not exist there would be no real way of recognizing and appreciating an extraordinary act of kindness or an extreme act of evil it would kinda be like we would all be on the same footing and it would be disastrous for everyone don't know if you get what i am trying to say there can be peace just not for everyone but if you believe in the bible which i personally dont although the one thing i do believe is that one piece of scripture that states blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.that gives me hope somewhat in the sense that life may be hard for us in this life but perhaps in the next life we will be blessed in ways we were cursed in this one,and the way we act in this life will directly affect what cards we are dealt in the next.so practice charity in this life try to bring peace in the world around you because very few people can make a real difference in Iraq ,because the conflict down in the middle east is as old as time and you and i and everybody on answers and even dare i say the president of the u.s.a has any kind of control over the outcome over there unfortunately that realisation will come at the cost of many American and allied soldiers but they made there choice, now you can make yours if you live in the Bronx area you can make a difference there You have a voice and you have civil rights and freedom of speech and democracy on your side you can talk to your congressmen you can raise funds you can hold a demonstration you can pass a petition, these are all freedoms you have at your disposal, the Iraqi people are so lucky they dont have democracy and i highly doubt no matter how hard anyone tries that it can be forced upon them.but you definitely have a say in how peaceful youre environment is and nobody can take that away from you, mabye you can start an outreach program for troubled youths you know like guide them when they are young dont be so fatalistic because you can do so much in youre own backyard to make a positive difference in the world youre little world around you good luck and dont give up hope

I believe that world peace means the end of war between nations. This I know can be achieved through international institutions mediating and resolving conflicts that are currently ongoing and preventing future conflicts with grace, tact, sustained effort, wisdom, flexibility, sincerity, determination, fortitude, fairness, just methods, understanding, firmness, skill, vision, and political will. This will happen because the rich will realize there's more money to be made through peaceful co-existence and the restoration and maintenance of the environment and sustainable economic development in the first world, the developing world and the third world built around first providing peoples basic necessities (clean water, subsistence farming and shelter projects) and in the process providing enough jobs at all skill levels for people to work and pay for those things then building green energy power plants, hospitals, schools, universities, libraries, theaters, stadiums, roads, sewer systems and other infrastructure of course trying to avoiding all the mistakes colonists and imperialists made. I know there's terrorists and violent people about and there will be for a long long time but with secular and religious schools teaching and educating children to be self sufficient and non-violent it's something that can slowly fade away with time leaving us a minimally violent world.

Anything is possible but in the entire history of humankind there has never been a time without someone somewhere trying to war against someone else. Some periods are worse than others but somebody is always got to fight for some stupid reason or other.

Gang violence in the Bronx is harder to stop, but we can put an end to fighting between countries. 4 of the 6 inhabited continents are almost entirely peaceful.

World Peace is an impossible dream. Humans are violent by nature and that will never change. Even if humans were gone, animals would still kill each other. The only way peace can be achieved is to essentially destroy all life.

There will never be world peace as long as their is people in the world. Since the beginning of time people have always fought and always will, there is a very famous quote "Only the dead have seen the end of war"

World peace? We can't even get peace within our own borders. Now carry that over into language and religious differences and you have anything but peace.

Sure it could. It would require an agonizing effort by nearly everyone alive, and that's not LIKELY, but yes, we could do it. Those who work for it are not working in vain. And it will take a lot more global burping and farting, maybe a war or two more, but we'll get there.
