I look at burning our flag as inciting violence the same way as if the KKK started burning pictures of MLK, or any other public display that incites violence. Be warned burn our flag and expect the worst. screw your rights.

When a traitor burns our flag at this time in our history it is the same as supporting our enemy and giving them morale support to kill our troops. As an American I should not have to stand and watch people support our enemies and spit in the face of every person who gave up life for me and my family.

Amen. I think John Wayne said it best when he said...actually, he didn't say much, just waded into a Vietnam War protest and started swinging.

Actually I burn a US Flag once a year. You gonna get violent with me? You try it and the only right you will have is to a long hospital visit there junior.
BTW I am a leader in the local Cub Scout Pack and we do it as part of a respectful flag retirement ceremony. The point is its easy for guys like you to make stupid threats from your mom's computer through the anonymity of the Internet. Especially when you have no idea what you are actually talking about because I guarantee you that you attempt any sort of violence on me you will not forget the lesson you learn that day.

I love this country even with its many imperfections. I love the flag which is the symbol of all this country stands for. I personally would never do anything to disrespect the symbol of all I hold dear.
One of those things I hold dear is the Constitution of the United States. It is a document I hold in respect second only to the Bible. One of the greatest freedoms we are granted as a people is the freedom to express ourselves without recrimination.
The United States is not a perfect nation but, I believe it is the finest nation on earth. Those americans who would burn the United States flag out of anger and frustration at the imperfections of this nation would say they have the right to do so under free speech. I would agree that they do. I may personally find it inane and rediculous that anyone would destroy the symbol of the very freedom they embrace, but I would never take away their right to do so.
I believe that many of these people are acting out in an effort to create the very feeling of anger you express. I encourage you not to allow them to succeed. Besides, life is too short and there are too many truely important issues to be concerned with.

People have the right of free speech. That means that often you will have people that disagree with you. If you truly believe in democracy, you would fight for their right to say what they will even though you dislike what they say. Many good men and women have died to protect that right even if they disagree with it. It is called freedom and that is what America is all about. Who are you to get violent on another for exercising their right guaranteed them by the Constitution. The Constitution was written the way it was to keep bullies like you and Bush from taking over. It was to give people the right to disagree or agree without fear of reprisal. You don't have a clue what it is all about. You are an idiot and a violent one at that.

Actually, although it makes me very sad to see the flag burned, I would be willing to give someone else the privelige of burning the flag, because if we aren't allowed such expressions of civil disobedience and the ability to express our displeasure with our government then our country would lose the very quality that sets America apart from, just for example, Iraq under the control of Saddam, Spain under Franco, Italy under Mussolini, or Germany under Hitler. We do not have an obligation to respond violently to such protest, we have an obligation to protect such protest, no matter how repulsive we may find the manner or subject on which they have chosen to express themselves.

Have you seen many people burning flags? I haven't. Actually I have never seen an American burning a flag. Not the most pressing problem of ours, would you say?
But thanks, good to know you're on top of this one.
