I have never ballet danced before. I took jazz and tap but I was never very talented at dancing. How difficult is ballet for someone who isn't very balanced and not the best dancer? Can I be taught how to ballet dance and get better?

your abilities in ballet will really depend on a few things:

1.] natural talent
2.] your coordination, skills, etc.
3.] your abilities in other dancing.

also, why shouldnt you be able to be taught and progress through dancing?! anyone can take beginner classes, which they offer at virtually any studio. however, some studios will divide you up by age, and not really ability. sorry, but in that case you will most likely be with people who have been dancing ballet for longer. although, it wouldnt hurt to talk to a studio director about private lessons [something offered at many studios!] also, work on your flexibilty, strength, and maybe rent a few yoga and ballet dvds. my personal favorite ballet dvd is The New York City Ballet Workout. it is the best workout and teaches you basic ballet skills =]

now, get on it! =]

The first question I have to ask you, is your age. I have taken (among other things) jazz, tap, and ballet. Personally, ballet is the hardest. That is, it is the hardest to be really good at. You have to have near perfect (if not perfect) turnout, great flexibility, high arches, a flexible back, long legs, and a few other traits. Balance helps too. BUT, if dancing professionally isn't important to you, and you just want a great, athletic hobby, ballet is wonderful. I just wanted to warn you of how difficult ballet can be though. Good luck!! And, you can always improve and get better, absolutely!!

Ballet definitely involves balance, but I took ballet for 9 years and I am probably someone you would consider to have no balance. The beginning stuff is so basic that balance doesn't really come into play. Have fun. I miss it a lot!

of coarse!!! ballet is the core af all dance so you have to take at least one ballet class( and take it seriously) if you want to succeed in any other area of dance. believe me if you take ballet you will get better. don't worry about balance and stuff you get taught that kind of stuff in class you should totally take ballet. P.S. ballet is hard even for the most experienced prima ballerina.

you're by no ability too previous to start dance. i all started dancing while i became approximately 11, now i'm 15 and am precise the place i should be alongside with different 15-3 hundred and sixty 5 days-olds even although a lot of all of them started at an age like 6. the component that labored for me while i all started became I took private classes for a mutually as. i became no longer sturdy sufficient to be contained in the learning with different 11-3 hundred and sixty 5 days-olds becasue that they had much greater adventure (as i discussed before, many had strted at a youthful age.) and that i became way too previous to be with the different novices who have been everywhere from 5-8. private classes helped me by way of fact i ought to learn at my very own p.c.. and get greater one-on-one. i additionally took classes 4 days a week. even although this could be somewhat unpractical for some, common dancing makes each and all of the adaptation. If I have been you, i'd additionally possibly take faucet. that is truly exciting and truly basic to capture on. wish this helps... and robust success playstation - the main important concern would be flexibility. as quickly as you're a definite age its greater sturdy to grow to be versatile, and as quickly as you get your era it take like triple the time to get your splits. so some distance as this, in simple terms practice known and heat up and funky down truly properly, and quickly sufficient you would be there
