GSM - (Global System for Mobile Communications) format phones usually have the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), commonly known as a SIM card, while the CDMA (Code-Division Multiple Access) format phones do not have SIM cards. and they cannot work on either's network. GSM is digital.
