Yes. This world is called Maya and is temporary and full of misery. Only one fourth of the souls come here. (the less intelligent ones- that's us) everyone else is in the eternal supreme spiritual abode (reality) and enjoying pleasure pastimes with the supreme Lord also known as Krishna, Vishnu, Allah, Jehovah, Etc. We chose to come here due to envy of Gods position. And He said knock yourself out. Though He tried to convince us not to go because it would be much suffering, knowing we would misuse of our free will- (Karma) But He knew that suffering would bring us to question our existance and call out to Him to bring us back to our eternal abode of Reality where there is no suffering or illusion. Yes we are creating all of these illusions life after life. The quickest and easiest way out of all illusion is to chant the Maha Mantra For info go to harekrishnatemple.c Read Bhagavad Gita As it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupad- tells how to attain our constitutional position and the purpose of human life. I love it.

Of course there's a real world out there. No matter how much you believe otherwise, you still need food, water, shelter etc. But, people do live in an illusion in many other respects like the values we put on things.

It depends on what you mean by "illusion". If you mean "is the world itself and illusion?", then no, I highly doubt it. But really, we assume things to make ourselves able comprehend some things, so that can be considered an illusion.

I believe that we live in a world where we can create good things for ourselves. Whenever we find that we are having problems are not doing what we should we can always change directions.

I think we do, sort of, to protect ourselves from the horrifying things that happen out there.
I also think illusions can lead to real motivation... But that's my optimistic point of view ;)

No, if we did, or rather if you did, you wouldn't ask this question.
If we lived lives of illusion there would be no pain etc, it'd be like living in an orgasm.

I think we create our own reality by our perceptions of what is good or bad or right and wrong. Our outlook shades what we see.

That's what the modern mind fuc*ers would have you believe. The truth is there is an objective reality out there and if you don't get in tune with it you're in for a great deal of mindf**ck**g.
