Dear,
if you intend , a dam that is still working , so this would be the old Aswan dam.note that there is another dam called high dam which is also in Aswan area and is newer

You'd think old "civilizations" would have dammed their rivers earlier, but it is probably the Aswan Dam on the Nile, engineered in the 1960s.

I think it's the God dam in the Red Sea. It is not widely known because only jewish people can use it.

it is on euphrate river in syria i think is taller than aswan
there only these 2 in the middle east.
