Jack I want to thank you for the great advice! I cancelled the NY-NY - made the reservation with the Luxor. Question though...the phone operator told me no rooms available at the rate but online the rooms were available. Do you think that we will have any problem with overbooking? Thank you again!!!

For one, there is no chance that the Luxor is over booked. If they didn't have lots of rooms to sell they would not be selling them at the bargain rate of $69. If they expected a high occupancy rate for that week the rates would be $200-$300 .

I would be shocked if you don't get an upgrade.

I think the operator simply made an error, with the PC code.

The only other explanation I could come up with is that in certain circumstances rooms are sold by different departments. The online PC may have come from casino marketing and the phone PC was a different department(confusing I know).

I have run into that many times, the "sorry we are sold out" that is. Then I talk to my casino host and they are like "sure what would you like and how long do you want to stay"

BTW, Smart move. I think you're really going to like the Luxor.

it is possible that they have a certain number of rooms reserved for online rates, etc. also, there could have been a change from online to phone. Honestly, I would book it online. you get confirmation #, and you are guaranteed a room. If there is a booking error, they will probably bump you up to a suite, and/or give you all kinds of comps.

The Luxor isn't undesirable, and primary extra suitable than many in that is budget. maximum visits to Las Vegas I even have stayed at places that have fee extra, and not suprisingly I plenty choose those lodges (Bellagio, Manadalay Bay, Mirage, Wynn). in spite of if, Luxor has stable factors and is in many situations available at an low-fee fee. My important complains: Rooms interior the pyramid in many situations advise fairly long walks to/from the elevator, and the rooms are small (rooms interior the towers tend to be nicer). lots of the non-smoking rooms needless to say have been smoking rooms interior the previous and smell of smoke. provider is honest and that i might many times assume a sprint extra. Parking may be troublesome in the process very busy situations (yet that is not regularly a situation... yet there ought to be extra). individually, in this budget i might probably stay at Treasure Island (in spite of the undeniable fact that i've got no longer been there for a pair years so take that with a grain of salt). in case you're finding to stay on the South end of the strip (close to Mandalay Bay, MGM, and NYNY) Luxor is a robust selection. in case you prefer to bypass a extra physically powerful end, Mandalay Bay (or larger nevertheless, The lodge at Mandalay Bay).
