She is breathing heavily and her back is bent in half with her tail hanging down! She keeps resting on plants/bottom and then will straighten out and swim normally. The male is constantly with her, looks like he's kissing her! What's up?

A bending of the spine like you describe is often a sign of old age. The labored breathing may also be from old age and trying to swim correctly with a back problem. There are a very few diseases that can ause these problems, but they are extremely rare and odds are far more in favor of old age especially since you have other fish in the tank that show none of these signs.

Of course, if she's very pregnant, that is the cause. he would be very fat and have a large black area called the gravid spot at the end of her abdomen.

in line with adventure, guppies and bettas are actually not stable jointly. The betta will %. and nip on the guppies. you will desire to get a greater tank in case you intend on preserving the three guppies and the distinctive fry, yet you besides mght would desire to get a separate tank for the betta, yet not a small bowl...5gal minimum.

If she's fatter than usual then she's pregnant but if she looks as usual (matter of size) then she's old and is facing problems with her age.

Though there are rare diseases that can cause these types of symptoms but as I said these diseases are very rare and are hardly to find in tanks.

Hope this helps and good luck

Lets face it......Your female guppy is a ****. She is trying to tell the male that she is easy. You have failed as a fish mother and you and your guppy should seek counseling. We are all pulling for you though, so hang in there.

if you have not tested your water i would strongly advise you do as this sounds like a bacterial infection to me.
