They don't do it simply because she was good looking. They do it because she was beautiful throughout. Also, she was extremely talented in more areas than just singing. Aaliyah was an amazing vocalist(Grammy-nominated), dancer, model (for Tommy Hilfiger), and actress. I fell in love with her in the movie Queen of the Damned! People admired her and miss her and maybe wearing a shirt with her picture is their way of preserving her memory. Don't be so negative, life is too short to worry about trivial things such as this.

Unfortunately, not too many 'fat and ugly' people make it big in the (R&B) music industry. Esp women. So no... to answer your question. Many people wear Biggie shirts as well and he knew he wasnt the finest MC on the mic. Aaliyah never seemed to be an ugly person internally either. She was a superstar on the rise and meant so much especially to 18-34yr. old demographic.

I really liked Aaliyah as an artist. But i wouldn't wear a shirt like that.

1st of all, if Aaliyah *were* an ugly, fat, 35 yo singer...the only people that would've been exposed to her would be attendees at her local town hall theatre.
Moral: The music business don't wanna see ya if you don't have the right look.
