Okay just had my fourth factory radio go on my '05 Chevy Truck. I had already had enough when I got to number three, now it's on! lol

On all four units the lights on the front panel keep burning out. As a bonus the CD eject function is broken on this one as well.

I have suggested to GM and the dealer that they try another model of these POS Bose stereo's but they don't want to hear that.

Including this latest experience this will have cost me:
Over 5 hours of driving
Over 5 hours in the waiting room
More than half a tank of gas
Almost 3 weeks without a stereo

I Spent an hour debating this with GM today. I haven't even seen the dealer yet as I know what their answer is. "We can change it again" which is exactly what they told the GM rep.

Everyones answer is "we'll change it for you". Am I the only one that would consider this a problem? My dad has almost a 10 year old cd player in his dodge and it works fine.

Any suggestions?

Bose equipment usually is good stuff.
There must be some other problem that is taking the stereo out. I wonder if maybe you have a wire pinched somewhere and it is getting shorted out? Maybe a problem with the voltage regulator, but that would cause more problems than just with the stereo. Good luck and sorry to hear about the hassle.
