I think a woman or a minority could lead the USA. Hillary might have a shot becasue a lot of people remember how prosperous the economy was with Bill in office. As for a minority, if the individual is not ethnocentric, there may be a chance. I think someone of Hispanic or East Asian descent would have a pretty good chance.

The problem is that most minority candidates have been black and their main focus was on "black" issues. That might appeal to the 12% of the population who are black but not to 88% who are Native Americans or of Asian, Australian, European, or South American descent. Barak might have a chance because he's only half-black and not mired in ethnocentric supremecy.

Yes, I think that if you are qualified to do the job then you should have the job. Also "white men" will not have a choice.
If a woman or a minority is in the position to "lead" the USA a "white man" will have to respect there position and if he doesn't then he will have to accept the consequences. I don't think that being a minority or a woman has anything to do with it.

Yes they can....and not only would it be a huge step, if not the near last step in the struggle for civil rights but it's historical symbolism is of immense proportions. I do believe, however they will have a tough term. Considering we do have a democratic bureaucracy, the president does not lead alone. With that said, regardless of whether or not the majority of Americans support them....The real question will be if the predominately white elected Congress men and senators will.

You are wrong. The only way way a minority or a women would get into office is if they are voted in, and if they are voted in, that would mean us "predominantly white" agrees with this person, and we are ready to be lead by this person.

People can change their minds.
More and more women and minorities are in leadership positions.
White men take orders from women and minorities everyday.

Remember when women couldn't vote or work outside the home?

i think of that is happening too. i'm in manhattan and not in ordinary terms Harlem yet different ethnic neighborhoods as properly. maximum of that's financial, the neighborhoods are frequently close to to transportation and their artwork and are less costly than different aspects. youthful anybody is seeing the destiny earnings, they determine they are going to flow and the two save for renting or make a earnings. If greater minorities would give up being hood wealthy and purchase some ingredients (they are able to locate the money for) particularly of leasing vehicles they are able to't discover the money for it must be diverse. yet people who ought to purchase in many cases depart the hood too.

They have the potential to win, but since it is a predominantly Democratic House, they might be able to be effective. If it were run by Republicans? No.
