I was watching the CONCACAF Champion's Cup semifinal between DC United and Chivas when they played in DC. There were more cheers for Chivas than for DC United!! I'm sorry but I find that disturbing. How come Americans can't get with the program? Americans will sit through a boring a** baseball game for 3+ hours but can't get into soccer like the rest of the World. Please help me understand what's wrong with these people...........thanks!

Foo first off I like your style of thinking and second off you should asked this question a long time ago.

I think the Americans think they're to ahead of the game since they have many different sports but I think they're being left behind in sports by the rest of the world.

You know how people say the U.S. is the best well I think they're taking it to seriously. It's getting to their heads. If you know spanish you would hear lots of people in spanish neighborhoods say los Americanos son muy creidos which is true.

Americans don't like soccer because the rivalrys that fuel European soccer just don't exist in American soccer.

Is their really any reason the say the Columbus Crew, would absolutely hate the Chicago fire? No.

Baseball is mostly just a way for people to get together for 4 hours and talk.

Speaking as an American living in the UK, most Americans think soccer is boring. They don't understand the intricacies of the game. I agree with your basketball comment but only at the professional level. I love soccer. I watch it whenever I can. I even go see the local team play when I can. I live in Peterborough. I plan on going to the game saturday. Go Posh.

Because soccer is a wussified form of hockey. Take away the ice, take away the sharp blades on your feet, replace the hard puck with big soft ball, and increase the playing field about 8 fold, and don't let anybody switch out when they get tired....and Americans don't even like to watch hockey very much.

We could probably get behind a little rugby if they had a professional league....

I have the same question. I find soccer to be WAY more interesting than American football. Then would be baseball and then basketball. I just can't understand how people find soccer boring when it has more technique, requires more ability, and makes you think more than any other sport.

maximum boxing followers outdoors usa are greater suitable supporters of their fighters. Patriotism and Nationalism are the conventional motives. Take working example Manny Pacquiao, he's a nationwide treasure to the people of the Philippines. Champions from international locations in central / South usa, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Austrialia are few and a lot between as oppose to the variety of champions from the country...nuff stated !

the final score of a 'high scoring' soccer game is always like 2-1...baseball scores involve much more action and it's a lot harder to hit a baseball than it is to kick a ball by a goalie...
when the most intense part of a soccer game lasts 5-8 seconds, baseball games are filled with excitement as any player could hit a walk off home run at any second...just more spontaneous and entertaining...
If you don't like America, then kiss my ***

For me it's the fact I don't want to pay money to watch men with weaker physiques than my wife run around a field faking injuries and arguing with refs calls. I don't want to be stuck in one place for 2 hours to watch 80 minutes of poor sportsmanship for 20 minutes of talented play from mature players. When the players have muscles and talent like Larry Johnson and can man up and play a game without complaining about one bad call in a 90 minute game I'll buy a ticket. I love Soccer and Hate! baseball, but I'm not wasting my money watching guys I can beat up.

1. Like someone said before, low scoring.

2. Mexican teams always have huge support when they come to the U.S. due to the large population of mexicans and mexican-americans in the country who still love futbol.

It's simple, they're ignorants and don't known **** about it. They also known that they will never be as good as other countries playing it cuz' they suck at it. Too bad they aren't the best in baseball anymore either "america past time" or whatever
