Definately Stanely. His action pushed Blanche over the edge.

Responsibility for the outcome rests with all the major players. If Mitch hadn't dumped Blanche; if Stella hadn't been pregnant; if Stanley hadn't resented Blanche's fabricated aristrocracy; if Stella hadn't left Blanche to deal with the DuBois family issues; if Blanche had not been so fragile -- Tennessee Williams' plays are complex studies of the human condition. There are no easy answers. That's the beauty of them, and that's why they continue to be popular.

Blanche is the pivotal character. Its the way other characters react to her and her reactions to them that gives us the main arc of the play.
