The Native Americans that were here when we arrived used the land for everyting. They respected it, but didn't "own" it with money. It was just their territory. Then settlers came along and basically said "We're better than you...we're taking all your land." So we shot them to get them off land that we bought with money and had no real respect for. For settlers, it was all about expanding our country and trade. But we didn't even care about the actual land at all. The natives did. Why? Because THEY were actually the better of the species.
Now, does it make any sense that we should have this land?
