if you elect them, you'll create a whole new group of politicians, each angling for your votes

The Congress is unconstitutionally overstepping its bounds. The Attorney General has done absolutely nothing ethically, politically or legally wrong.

The Democrats are simply worried about Bush replacing Clinton's attorneys with attorneys that they can't pay off to protect them from prosecution.

William Jefferson ought to be sweating a whole lot more blood than the "set-up" Libbey should ever have had to endure.
Harry Reid's land dealings stink, and I consider the exemption of Samoa in the minimum-wage bill to be an example of utter corruption.

I'd also like to see people who have taken Saddam's money prosecuted. The only mistake made was that Bush should have offed them along with the Clintonistas that infiltrated the CIA, State Dept, and Pentagon.

I think elections would be more likely to ensure fairness in the application of the law - opposed to the "electioneering" that this administration has used them for - how pathetic - can't win on your own merits, so cheat.

So much for their moral high ground.

The best part is the idiots (aka followers of Limbaugh) that spout the "Clinton fired 93 US attorneys" - yeah duh, just like every president does when they take office. New President = new US attorneys. But these 8 were fired because Rove felt they were not showing loyalty to the President's political party.

Appointed, I still don't see what the big deal is. After all, the Clinton fired ALL the attorneys and nobody said anything.

I vote for continuing the tradition, which worked until America became a dictatorship. Seriously as soon as Congress gets it's head out of its @$$ and begins criminal proceedings things (hopefully) will return to a Democracy... once again THANKS rethugs for allowing the overthrow of a free America and the installment of a CRIMINAL in the Presidency... You should all be ashamed of your un-American actions!

All you do is switch the group they answer to. DA's answer to the voters, and can get voted out. US Attorney's answer to the politicos who can get voted out by the same voters.
