The department stores probally get couple shipments of prom dresses, depending on what store it is, and if they get alot or little bissness
The part about trying to convince your mom about getting you the dress, Do alot of work around the house and for your neighbors... Tell her that when you get a job(if you dont already have one) that you will pay her back when you get the money to do so. That's all i got. Hope i helped.

I know prom dresses you just about have to get the one you really want when you see it! Proms are only once a year and I know our store doesn't do multiple orders of them, they go fast. Can't you ask your mom if she can buy it for you and maybe you can do some extra chores around the house. Or if you have a job pay back half the dress, like share the cost. Proms only come once in your life.

Department sores usually get prom dresses once or twice and then they sale out.
If your mom has a department store creidt card maybe she can put the dress on her card and then you could make the payments to pay it off.
Have a good time a prom!

Tell her that you'll pay her back as soon as you have the money, no longer than four weeks so if it's a dress over 200 dollars, you better earn that money fast. Or you can offer to do any favours for her.

Go low priced on everything else. Maybe get a friend who is really good at manicures to do your nails, bargain hunt for cute shoes, go in a car rather than a limo...everyone goes in limos anyway, and that makes it just another limo there, no one really looks at you anyway, because there are so many.

tell her you'll wear it quit a few times, my mom always does that to me when i think of buying something that's a little too pricey she says "you're probably going to wear it about 5 or 6 times, so divided by 5/6... it'll pay off for itself!"
think about it first, if it's really expencieve, are you ever going to wear it again besides that one special occation?!

why dont you offer to help pay for the dress. but do remember you ahve to buy shoes and accessories and everything else. so just help pay for it and maybe she'll rethink her answer.
