My daughter did the exact same thing--but with cayanne pepper--when my hubby was watchng her. She sneezed a couple of times and got it on her hands, which she then licked. We just washed her hands and face really well, to make sure we got it all off. Of course she was upset by the fire-hot spice on her tongue, so we gave her some milk, which gives the spice and pepper oils something to bond to and removes it as much as possible. Her mouth was a little red, but she calmed down almost instantly with the milk.

Do not give your baby water, or water based drinks, though! Unlike milk, water actually helps capsaicinoids (the "heat" element in the pepper) to adhere to the inside of your mouth. However yogurt, cheese and some say bread or vanilla wafers will also help take away the pepper "heat" for babies or adults!

He may be a little uncomfortable, but I'm sure he's perfectly safe. It's a food product afterall!

He should be ok. Just check to make sure hes not red and swelled in nose he most likely will sneeze but that it. He breaths in worse outside everyday!
