he says i am too clingy and i know i am. He says he needs space to do his own thing, that i am the ideal bf and wants me to stay in his life. He does not want to break up since he never gets back with any body he breaks up with ( his rule). He has not said anything before because he knew he is the only one i count for emotionally. I am not out and its not like i could talk to anyone about it. do relationships work out fine after the time when couples give each other "space"? He also told me ever since his very 1st relationship he has felt like this with every bf he has had, and he always ends them, but he doesnt want that in this case, and wants to know if he will ride this out by playing it by ear. i am confused and dazed in california.

Even though you admit that you are too clingy, I wonder why your bf would need his space after 8 months.

It sounds as if he wants to keep you around in case he doesn't meet someone else while he has his "space."

Since he has rules about breaking up and says that he is the one who does the breaking up, he sounds as if he might be a player and that you are being played. He may not be, but from what you have written makes me think that he is.

Give him his space, and while this is happening you find other things to do, other interests so your not so clingy. Nothing worse than a partner that wants your every spare moment. You sound very needy, back off alittle.

It sounds like he is in this man ideal even being gay.If I were you,I'll say:You now I have my own rules too so get out of my life because it is:If you don't wanna spent time with me you'll don't need my sex either or my love.Maybe he doesn't break at all with you so he can go back and get laid.

He's confused. You have to decide where the relationship is going to go and hopefully he agrees with you!
