A battery is a battery period.
It lasts a certain amount of time.
If it lasts 100,000 miles in testing IT DOES!!!
Period!!!
They will be available to the general public in 2008.
You can either pay $3000 to 5000 dollars to BIG OIL EVERY YEAR or 25% percent that for a larger electric bill.
Cali is going solar and wind very quick so if your state is not you are MESSED UP!!!

Get this...

Power is made by what process? the burning of coal or fossil fuels (oil)..

Gas/oil is a fossil fuel that powers our cars.

when the battery of your electric car charges.. what do you think you have to plug it into? an electrical outlet.. where does the power come from?.. buring oil or coal.

EDIT: Do you really think solar power is reliable enough to take the place of Oil and Coal?? Some parts of the world see no sun for days/weeks/months on end.

AND.. do you know that CO2 has just as much to do with "global warming" as water (clouds) do? If cars were powered by water, do you realize the humidity that would set in around most cities? It would turn into a political agenda just like Global Warming has already become!

EDIT AGAIN: do you say shut up because you are uneducated on these facts and have no way to back up your opinions? do some research, then repost. Look at the other side, so you will know where they will be coming from and find points that will back your side up or you will be sitting in this same little corner for the rest of your life.

email me if you want to debate, we'll see how far your uneducated ideas will get you. lmao

The technology exists to have a vehicle that can do that, but battery charge is greatly exaggerated. I can't charge a cell phone in ten minutes, let alone a car. Also, even if that were possible, where do you think the electricity comes from to power those cars? Most likely from a coal burning power plant. Personally, I love the rumble of my Camaro's V8, and like the idea of being able to modify and tune my engine. Also, I have a friend who has worked on electric cars and says that they are much harder to maintain than a typical gasoline vehicle. Only partly due to lack of part availability.

Nope. There HAS to be drawbacks. Every body won't rush right out and buy one just because they are there. It's going to take a heck of a lot of convincing before they start selling good enough to be considered practical, reliable, and suitably powerful. It's brand new technology and that ALWAYS means they have bugs that need fixed. Electric cars are not a new concept. The public is not ready to change to an unproven design, no matter what you think. The auto companies aren't eager to invest heavily in something they can't sell or does not give good enough profit margin.
And then there is the massive # of jobs lost to new technology in the auto and fuel business to consider.

480 lbs. of tourque
95mph
charges in minutes
you forgot to mention how far your dream car would go on a charge
You are not going to get a electric motor that can put out that much torque to fin in a truck let alone a car. Not only that, the wattage required to power a motor that large would need such a huge battery supply even with lipoly batteries you would need two motors to pull just the batteries. If it were that easy they would be everywhere.

Yes. I've seen the film, "Who Killed the Electric Car". Excellent documentary showing the electric cars available in the 1990's and Detroit's campaign to get them off the road.

I would in a minute, except I can't afford a cheap new car, let alone a 40-50k one. Even the kits to retrofit an existing car into electric are out of my price range.

Looks awesome though!
