Kotex Security is a good brand, that is what I use all the time. They are not 100% cotton but they don't use chemicals or fragrances they are just a cotton/rayon blend. You might want to try those.

I tried the Tampax brand and I didn't like it because of the cardboard applicator so I chose the ob brand tampon instead because it had no applicator at all with it.

I no longer use tampons due to medical issues unrelated to the tampon itself.

As for the other symptoms that you had it could be the kind of tampon when it comes to absorbency might have been too strong for you.

Hi Megan!
I also have problems with Tampax. I have found that Security works great for me. Good Luck!

you could try the o.b. brand; i'm not sure if it's 100% cotton though.

sometimes i get a headache or nauseous from tampons; usually it means it's been in too long. that also happens to me if i'm using the wrong absorbency.

I use Playtex Gentle Glide and they are amazingly comfortable. I don't recommend Tampax Pearl (if thats what you were using) because they are really uncomfortable to take out... hope this helps!

There have been studies that they put chemicals in tampons, that can cause problems. I would use non perfumed tampons & I would also suggest seeing a gynocologist.
