I got Dengue Fever last year - 3 days in hospital from the little blighters - Dengue kills 1/100 it bites within 3 days - the only cure if you get it bad is blood transfussions - thus the hospital stay - so you are near the blood supply.

It kills about 30 people a year in Singapore and far more in Asia. Thailand is real bad but the government doesn't publish the figures as it would damage the tourism industry.

Mosquitoes like thick blood: so locals in hot countries are less liable to be bitten than tourists - cos when you live in a hot place your blood thins.

We fog - it smells like ammonia - once a week.

The other this is to ensure there is no standing water, plant pots, gutters etc. where they can breed.

Did you know the best way to keep mosquito's from biting is to rub dryer sheets on your skin and clothes?
Thanks for the ammonia FYI.....

You shouldn't be putting ammonia directly on your skin.

Taking a warm bath gets rid of the itch and it's safer.

I don't know if this works for mosquito's but I read that if a bee or wasp stings you, you should put a penny on it and wrap it up for several hours.
