Troubleshoot

Try one usb at a time with a Webcam or other usb device to see if any detect your hardware.

Uninstall your USB Drivers reboot your computer and let windows install them for you again.

Update your drivers

Or Buy a PCI USB Expansion Card.

man, thats tough... if you reinstalled the operating system (last ditch effort) and they still didnt work, you could safely assume that there is a hardware problem.

if the USB ports are not onboard (meaning there are wires running to the motherboard from your usb hub), then id check to see if those are on correctly (tighly, and over the correct pins)

i HIGHLY doubt its a driver issue because windows xp service pack 2 has drivers for those.. however, it could easily be a driver issue if you have a service pack that is less than 2 (or no service pack at all)

if you have less than service pack 2, you have to see if your support CD for your motherboard (or usb hub if not built into the mother board) has drivers to make the USB work.

They quit a lot. If removing them and letting them reinstall didn't work you'll probably need to buy a USB card that goes in a PCI slot.

you need the mother board drivers for the usb ports. you seem to have lost them or they were not installed,
you will need to install the drivers from the cd rom that came with motherboard.

If you have not got one then you will need to got to the manufactures website and download them you have not said what motherboard you have in your computer so I can't help you there...
