QUESTION 1: Will my flower horn fry kill each other?

Recently I've gotten 12 FH Fry from my cousin. They each are about 2 months old since hatching. Some are bigger, some smaller. I had them for 3 days now. They seem to be biting each other, chasing each other, I thought they were playing around, but it seems like they are "bullying" each other. I thought it was because they were hungry so I put food in, they fight over the food. Some might miss the food and hit another fry instead. Some might bump into each other trying to get the same food.

QUESTION 2: What kind of accessories should I put in the tank to make the fry feel at home?

Right now I have a little thingy magig and it blows bubbles up while spinning an orange wheel. I have a big ornament in there that's laid against the wheel and the fish love to rest in there. I also have a bright background. What else should I get to make them feel at home? Some plants? sand? pebbles?

Thanks for reading this, hope I get good answers!

Flowerhorns are cichlids, mix of many different aggressive cichlids. The thing about flowerhorns is that they usually fight each other by 1"+, nipped fins and scales but most of the time not deadly. But when they get bigger, they get VERY territorial and their fights are even more deadly. My suggestion is buying dividers or make many hiding places. I had 12 in one tank a month ago and now i only have 3 (and the female is hiding from the male all the time) with a divider (that has fry that hatched two days ago). I had to move the rest to another tank.

For your second question, you can put any decoration just as long as it is not live plants. I recommend getting pea-sized or smaller gravel so that at 3" they can play and do their mating ritual. Crushed coral is also a good substrate since it can raise your pH (most cichlids like 7-8). Sand is not a good idea since there would be a dust problem everytime the FH chase each other. If you need more answers to this or any other flowerhorn related questions you can search flowerhornusa.com. Hope this helps!

Haha, have you ever seen adult FH in group, sharing the same tank?

In fact, they are also aggressive fishes and have very strong territory-minded.

You can bet they are fighting for territory as they grow up.

Plants will be nipped off eventually by them, so dun bother to put any in them-unless you wan them to have some 'toys'. Pebbles will be more prefered than sands as FH tends to have fun digging, they will eventually shift all the pebbles to one side.

Maybe you should start to select one or two better fry and keep them aside to let them grow..

May you have a wonderful experience! Cheers!

those eggs are unfertilized and could on no account hatch, especially sood they're going to rot making your tank grimy. do away with them and throw them away. Many woman flower horns lay eggs with our and not using a mate and that they are yellow while unfertilized and white while fertilized.

i recomend things that they can rest on or feel safe in. i was going to get one of those. they are bullying each other simply because at this point in their lives it is dog eat dog world. a good thing for them to rest on is a large rock with lots of crevaces. hope this helps you =)
