Mandela and the rest of the Communist scum of the ANC seized power in 1994 - the sanctions were lifted, BILLIONS of $ of international aid were pumped in the South African economy, and South Africa was welcomed as the newest democracy on the international stage.
What happened? Where's the rainbow nation, the supposed paradise?
It's becoming glaringly apparent that blacks in Africa can't run their own countries. South Africa has descended into a Stalinist maelstrom of corruption, murder, rape, carjackings and every other conceivable crime.
Moreover, there is a sizable portion of the black population that wants the whites out - not thinking things through; without whites, who will take care of the blacks?

Wazzzup - look at the last part of the question - with all the white people out the picture, who will look after you, you ignorant savage?

Moloi - looks like you used spell-check this time.
Take a look at Zimbabwe - see how well it's doing without whites?

I rest my case.

Innocentia - 'One of the black man's greatest qualities is his perseverance.'

Sweetheart, that is a racist statement in and of itself. Individuals differ, not races. It's that kind of neanderthal thinking that gave rise to apartheid.

Mind you, most of the rest of what you say makes sense, for a change.
Yes, you don't have to carry a 'dompas', just as a baas is something on four wheels that carries passengers.
You can mix freely with those of other races ( something I always did when I lived in South Africa, regardless of what the law said). We are, after all, individuals, regardless of race, are we not?
You can attend the schools of your choice, attain the job of your choice (with the help of AA and BEE, let's not kid one another), go to the restaurants of your choice and so can your children.

However, you can't go out after dark, you have to live in secured communities behind electrified fences, if you stop at traffic lights you have to be aware of carjackers.

There's also a better than average chance you'll be raped in your lifetime and your house will definitely be broken into at some point.
So let me ask you this, what good is your new found freedom if where once you were held hostage by apartheid, you are now held hostage by the predators that freely roam your streets unchecked, thanks to the ANC's ineptitude?

The basic thing is you cant expect a monkey to be the king of the jungle without the jungle falling apart
People running south africa is uneducated to be able to run a country they are dfriven by greed and power and give they just want to take
I the sad part of this all is that all the other people voting for them hasnt catched a wake up yet
I mean open your eyes and see how many of you did actually got a house since it was promise to you in 1994 election how many of you do have running water in your houses?
The government is not looking after the people who voted for them they are only looking after themselves ensuring that they are rich and wealthy.
And as far as my knowledge goes the situation in the townships has only gotten worse since the apartheid era now people dont have to be locked in their houses before 8 because they will get arrested but because they will get killed - wake up you guys the government doesnt care about the poor black people they only care about the rich black people who they can get something from.
So all the black people is blaming the white people for what they are going through now but what can the white people do they get murdered for cellphones, their farms gets taken away just to return after 2years and to see that there has nothing been done on the farm and in the end they buy back the farm for less than what they have sold it to the government
Black people in south africa should start to open their eyes and see the ANC for what they realy are
Look at Zim, black people are suffering there dying and yet the ANC wishes to do nothing for their fellow black people that suffers in Zim

Zimbabwe is in such a terrible state and the black people are so desperate to get out of there, that they try to cross a river full of crocodiles to cross the border. Why? Because there's no food, no nothing. Conclusion: White man + farm = FOOD. The same is happening here in South Africa. They just don't get it. Is this nightmare going to last forever? You are right Brad. It's been 13 years now and nothing has changed. You can't say look on the bright side cause there is no bright side. Is this how it's going to be the next 13 years? Well then I don't want to be here anymore. Paradise have turned into planet of the apes (jungle) long time ago.

Miss Hopeful Eclectic - the ignorant people like Moloi must rather watch the movie Children of Men cause that will give them a better picture of the future. I think that movie isn't far from the truth at all.

Moloi - you don't really have anything to say, do you? You know that Brad is talking the truth (and sense unlike you) but you don't know how to make a come back or how to start a debate, so you call him a racist all the time. Look at your own president Mbeki. He's the racist and he doesn't give a sh*t for his country and he's turning he's back on crime. So, why don't you start and complain about your own president cause he's not doing a great job at all.

The upside is we are back on the world stage sport wise,we can travel anywhere in the world, the pariah status we had has gone, the majority of the population are been given a fair chance to advance their lives for the better, the downside loss of control by the government, rampant crime, no vision for the future. All the negatives can be addressed if all South Africans stand together and vote with their heads and not with their hearts.

The rest of Africa isn't looking so good (NB: watch "Lord of War" with Nicolas Cage).
However, I am the eternal optimist. I have my own plans for this country. The government is not paying enough attention to education. Forget Affirmative Action, these guys are too old to learn new tricks. Keep the whites there in high places, and EDUCATE THE CHILDREN. If this country is still in one piece by the time I've finished studying, I'm planning on opening a library franchise. If the government won't do something then it's up to the people.

The upside, I would say, is having someone like Trevor Manual looking after our economy.
I'm glad apartheid is gone. That so-called first world country was built on backs of cheap non-white labour.
Instead of complaining, and worrying about our corrupt government, let's do something about it ourselves...before it's too late!

Hahaha. Ja, Brad! You and your gang of corrupt racists are experts on telling us how uneducated we are. You always tell us that we must research and make informed comments. But not on a single occasion have you ever provided reliable information on the performance of this country’s economy. You always spew dung without providing any facts. You guys are so good in linking us t stories about crime, corruption etc. But you never did on economy. The only reason is that you know that such information will negate your nonsense stories.

And who said we will not live without whites? I, and majority of Africans in this country, respect and have no problem with whites in this country. We however reject as utter rubbish that we will die if all whites leave. In fact that idea is as remote as Alf Brad & Co. converting from racism.

Now, go ahead and correct everything – starting with grammar.

Smiley - But, honestly, I cannot debate issues with you. Your brain power is so low that I will be straining myself when trying to be at your level. So, no comment!!!!!

Hon, you and your lot can go back where your forefathers came from, (and for your info they don't want you there). South Africa will be able to rise up from all the corrupt culture that was instilled by whites. Since you want to make it a racial thing. Then brother bring it on!!! Get out of the country and I mean now!! You are calling us communists? I would rather be a communist than part of a people that started concentration camps. A people with so much hatred that they even came up with their own name for racism, that went down in history with a non-healing scar. Newsflash, the scar will heal after you lot are gone and left my homeland in peace. Or are you waiting for the Uhuru you are so scared of? Hon, we don't need to do things your way, we are not savages like you! Your and your lot has corrupted South Africa so much that you have turned part of the population into a dependent people, however, dependence is learned and can be unlearned my dear. You yourself show that you have no base for what you are saying that is why you posted the question in the first place as you desperately wish for someone to back you up.

chances are if you are white its a bad time to be there.

What will have to happen is a resetting of tribal lines between countries and a general redrawing of maps to reflect the reality of what is on the ground in Africa.

Tribalism is what is causing it all and white tribes with guns temporarily had an advantage and slaughtered/enslaved/ forced people into their intertribal lines that they and other white tribes placed over the blacks. Nobody is taking care of anyone my friend.

Now that everyone has a gun, its just reverting back to natures way. Which means you are outnumbered buddy.

I do beg to differ. My parents live in SA and I visit them a lot and find it a great country sure threes major problems but there is many great things the integration in my parents neighborhood of the fast growing middle class blacks the exploding house market and such forth.

Upside?
Well lets see Brad...mmmh?
Ah, I as a Black person got a BEE post (for a job that requires me to write copy in Zulu, Tswana etc)... and some White South African who speaks and writes all vernacular languages is jobless because I took their post.

(Yeah right)

Not ignoring the downside of the "supposed liberation"... I can say the upside for me has been the ability to live free of racism, except from Brad himself (the only person I've ever been victim of racism from)...The chance to also go to private schools, socialize across races. Enjoy my country without extreme limitations because I wasn't born with straight hair and a straight nose. Be able to express myself in my own language, and not have one forced into my head. I've had the chance to work at a prestigious well established ad agency, not as a cleaner but as a writer because I was given the chance at my private school to study a Nguni languange. I can originate scripts for SABC radio, go to recordings. Go to glamorous occassions and functions....etc, etc

If the whites are gone, surely they will be missed....especially by me (hopefully they aren't going anywhere though). But then again, its not the entire black nation thats illiterate and dependant. We have very resourceful and smart individuals. One of black mans greatest qualities has always been peserverence... Look how those in the struggle held on 'til they could see the day they didnt have to carry a flippin dompass...

With difficulties, Africans will handle our business. SA has been hobbled for centuries by Europe, intentionally.

With the most recent changes, europeans are not welcome or capable of handling their new lower rank. They are incompetent administrators in a democratic society where they no longer de jure have the unfair and unequal privledges they held by force. However, de facto, so far, Europeans have struggled to hold onto their ill gotten gains by refusing to work properly, working as sabotage agents or undermining the development of a stable and effective "rainbow" society.
It is their duty to leave.

They have used their experience of civil service offices to slow and hamper success. With few exceptions, they are a spreading cancer in SA. If they stay, they are an unwelcome, dangerous and destabilizing force. They cost too much.

If they have talent, take those to UK, Germany, Israel, Aus, USA.

What is the good saying, "Europeans, you don't have to go home, but you have to get out of here!"
