Eli just doesn't have the same level of talent and football intelligence as his father and his brother Peyton. Perhaps he also plays scared, but he wasn't the #1 overall pick because of the player he is, he was the #1 overall pick because of the player Archie was and Peyton is. Eli himself was never more than O.K.

I don't think Eli plays scared, have y'all seen him? He doesn't have any emotion at all. He just looks like he's numb out there. The Giants have made an investment for the future, if it's going to work out he really needs to work on his leadership skills. How's the offense going to get pumped up when they look at the guy that's supposed to be their general and he seems to always have a look on his face like he just found out he was adopted.
Hopefully Brandon Jacobs will keep Eli from having to lift the team onto his shoulders this year.

excellent point!! you are 100% right! i am a giant fan, and say he should bne traded! he plays VERY SCARED! BUT HE HAS NO OFFENSIVE LINE, EITHER! and that hurts! he is nothing like his brother PEYTON! AND NEVEER WILL BE! HE IS BIGGEST MISTAKE GIANTS HAVE EVER MADE! REMEMBER THE PHIILIP RIVERS DEAL FOR ELI? WHO GOT BETTER DEAL? SAN DIEGO!!

Maybe it seems like he plays scared and tries to live up to his brother + father. Then he screws up under pressure like Rex Grossman.
