I think that Melky Cabrera has a lot of potential. He is my favorite Yankee because he has a bright future on the team. He is probably the best 4th outfielder and he will probably get in somehow since Bobby Abreu is a little injured. Melky has lots of speed so when he steals, he can aggresively take the base and he has only been caught a few times. Also he is good at batting. He may not be your average power hitter but he can put up good numbers and can almost always guarantee a hit. He has amazing fantastic fielding skills, and my proof for that? He won the Play of the Year 2006. Melky Cabrera is an amazing player with a bright future and a lot of potential.

What is this "fourth outfielder" crap? Melky had a very good season last year, playing mostly as a 21 year old. He hit .280, has a very good eye at the plate, makes solid contact (59 strikeouts in 460 at bats), and rips line drives all over the field. He played started for about 2/3 of the season and still scored 75 runs which means he's a very good, aggressive baserunner. Just because he hit just 7 home runs, does that mean he's fourth outfielder material? Most guys his age are still in Triple-A, if not Double-A or even Single-A. If he's 27 then maybe you could say he's a fourth outfielder.

Melky won't be 22 until August and his hitting coach, Don Mattingly said he'll be a consistent. .300 hitter and hit for some power. He's a solid all around player, and is the type of guy the Yankees had on their team when they were winning. Does anyone remember who the Yankees let go to make Melky their fourth outfielder? Bernie. It's safe to say that he has a long career ahead of him.

He's a good fourth outfielder for the Yankees. He could probably be a starter on a number of other teams though.

Honestly, I think he is one of the best outfeilders on the yankees. Although he could use a little work he is a wonderful outfeilder. He had a outstanding rookie year at left field thanks to matsui and you could tell that he improved as the season went on.

He's basically average in all ways, with the exception of his powerful throwing arm.
