idk why they call it cold turkey but its the easiest, quickest, and cheapest way to do it.

just keep the temptation away from yourself..throw away any cigarettes you have, tell your friends you're trying to quit and if they respect you, they won't do it around you

p.s.--I hear the gum can have bad effects on you...?

First off I have never been a smoker, I have tried it once, but thankfully wasn't addicted and have asthma.

From what I do know (both my folks quit smoking, and my fiance) is that you have to want to quit. When you want to quit that makes things easier.

There is a good book at is fairly cheap, Allan Carrs Easy way to Stop smoking. To summarize it talks about the mental push of quiting. Veiw the habit as a little monster.

Another thing is substitue the action. My fiance starting sucking lollypops, while my dad and mom chewed gum. This eliviates the action of smoking.

One thing that helped with my fiance is rashoning. He would give me his packs of smokes, and we would cut down from there. He smoked a pack and a half a week. So we averaged it out to how much he smoked a day. When he bought a pack he would give it to me and I would give him the amount of smokes he was allowed during the day. It used to 7 smokes a day, so we cut it to 5 a day for 2 weeks. then 4 a day for two weeks and 3 day for 3 weeks, 2 a day for 3 weeks, and 1 a day for a month. Then 1 every two days, for a week, the 1 every 3 days for two weeks. then 1 avery 3 days for two weeks, 1 every 4 days for two weeks, 1 every 5 days for weeks then 1 a week to none a week.

They say it take 2 week for the nicotine to get out of your system, and once you pass that two week hurdle any cravings are mental rather than addiction. Also keep in mind if takes 21 days to make or break a habit, however to expect it to take longer for addictions.

It helps if you have people supporting you but most importantly you have to have the mind set that you can do it.

Quit now because you are on a loser road, most women dont want to kiss an ash mouth. Can i give other reasons?A fresh minty kiss, a fresh breath, a healthy man, or woman. Smoking is not glamourous. it shows the death of famous Handsome men and women who are dead because of smoke. Fresh breath and great healthare the way to be a great future lover. Most great women like me have a non smoker and drinker.

There is no easy quick way.

You have to want to stop.

You have to do the hard work and just stop.

After three days you wont want to smoke.

have a lung removed due to cancer, and you will find you stop smoking the next day ,no need for patches or any other form of nicotine replacement as the pain you are in will remind you every day what smoking has done to you

if you can, talk to a doc about going on Wellbutrin. apparently proven to lessen cravings. in conjunction use the patch. stay away from ppl who smoke until you get over the worst part (first couple of weeks). i wish i had never started smoking but the steps above worked for me. good luck, honey.

Everytime you think of smoking, tell yourself to stop it, I can follow you around and do this for you for a fee. It works by yourself though. You can control any urge with enough self dicipline.
