The Dump, and when I say that I dont mean the junkyard. There is a new wholesale furniture place called the dump that just opened and they are supposed to have good prices. Or I would suggest IKEA, they are fair priced and really cool/contemporary. I got a pullout huge blue sofa for $350 there bar stools as low as $15

My husband is in furniture sales, he works for a Berkshire Hathaway Company (Warren Buffet). His company no longer carries Ashley furniture because of problems with the furniture.
Rooms to Go has very good furniture and when you buy a furniture groupings you get discounts. Our son lives in Dallas, got his furniture at Rooms to Go and not only got good furniture but a good deal as well.
Good Luck

If you want put-together-yourself, check out IKEA. Also there is a great place called Nadeau that sells import furniture to the trade. Call them to get on their mail list - once a month they open to the public. Incredible prices.

Ashley furniture & Rooms To Go are pretty inexpensive. And you can't beat Ikea (in Frisco) for price. Oh, and I found a nice recliner at Big Lots.

this might be a surprising answer but the Salvation Army - a lot of people donate really nice furniture and you can turn around and buy it at a great price.
