The actions of the coaches are very inappropriate, and very unprofessional regardless. As best you can, stay out of the carnage yourself. But I do think that the matter should be brought before your school board.
Above all, DO NOT give up a sport you love because of some adult-aged jerks. If only they could act as mature as you do. :)

talk to the board of ed., principal, guidance counselor, anyone who can help you sort all of this out. But remember to never sacrifice your morals and beliefs for someone else. I played softball in high school as well on several and for my recreational team the coaches never played some of the girls even though they were not bad players. Eventually me and my friends decided to boycott playing or just give less than 100% until they caved and let them play. Sometimes coaches don't look at the bigger picture and hate being corrected or made to look like fools from players and parents. Don't do anything rash but don't back down either! Stay calm and everything will work itself out.

Thats a tough one. Maybe you should talk to the coach or at the next practice let her see your other pitches so she has confidence in them as well. As far as your dad sometimes people get intimadated w/ someone the other kids like better unless you are going to quit the team he should stay behind the scence. You could always go to the principal to have her removed. Good luck.

Well, I wouldn't quit just because of this. She is the coach, and she is feeling threatened. She is puling a power trip with you. To be the adult, I'd just do what she says, and go from there as long as your winning. Keep practicing your secret pitches. If you start losing, causally suggest a pitch. As far as your Dad goes, mabye go to the head of the school about it, and maybe the coach needs a little bit of counceling. Have witneses document their accounts.

wow all this over a game? Why was the coach so defensive? well, at first i was thinking for sure that you should quit and then i thought about the fact that playing softball and being talented will lead to scholarships and universities and be really helpful for your career. So maybe go to another school or just try to let the whole thing go.

The coach is the BOSS of that team, and your father should have minded his own business to begin with. Having been a high school principal for 14 years, I was, quite frankly, sick and tired if parents who ALWAYS knew more than the coaches and who caused more problems with their petty interference. Your father should remain on the sidelines, cheer for you, and let the coaches manage the team.
Chow!!

Stay out of it! Let the adults fight among themselves. Just be cool, stay focused on your pitches and game, be a team player, and enjoy the game. If you absolutely want to quit, well, then, go ahead. But, if you're enjoying your team and the pitching, stay with your team and don't get involved in the mess. The adults will eventually work things out. Eventually....

I think this needs to brought up at a school board meeting and first talk to a few of the other players and their parents to have them back you up.
Good Luck and hope everything works out for you!

If your dads bothered by it, he should go talk to your schools athletic director. There are other schools, other softball leagues, other options. If you stick it out, you`re pretty tough.
