Isn't it obvious to you that in order for hot water to freeze it must first become cold, so obviously water that is already cold will freeze faster than hot.

On a cooking show that was teaching chefs to cook they were trying to heat water rapidly. The main chef thought they were all morons because they thought cold water heated more rapildly than hot. Well the same principal applies here, hot water takes longer to cool, thus longer to freeze!! No brainer!
