why do my 2000va 12volt inverter restart my computer when changing from city power to inverter power?

Good UPS's switch over in a few milliseconds and the computer can't even tell there was a failure. Yours isn't a good one. About 98% of UPS problems are bad batteries. They last fro 3 to 5 years.
