I took the January SAT and got a 1470 out of the new sat a 1010 out of the old one.. i am a private school student and have around a B average- is it possible for me to still go to Bucknell? Also this is my first test, i'm currently taking an SAT class but i got a 540 in critical reading 480 in math and 470 in writing, and an 8 on the essay--any help for raising the score/ a realistic view on possible colleges? Thanks

Don't worry. The SAT is not an exact measure of intelligence because some people are just not good test takers. I have a friend with a 2.5 GPA who got a 2350 on the SAT. You just need to practice. I'm guess that was your first time and you just winged it. Practice taking old tests- The princeton Review is good for math and Kaplan's is good for CR and Writing. Pace yourself during the test. If you can eliminate one answer, go ahead and guess.

Practice Practice Practice and you will do fine.

There's a book called CRACKING THE SAT. Try it--has great suggestions.
Bucknell is looking for 620 verbal ,,,650 math===that is average score for incoming freshmen.

you had better hope that the rest of your school resume is better than that, lots of clubs and activities and stuff, and you had better bring up the b to an a if you can. If its a prestigious private school and you have rich parents you may have a chance.
