the resolution is 1280x1024 but when i put the menu button it says 640x480 60hz but i have the same lcd monitor on another computer and on the menu it says 1024x768 60hz how do i make it higher

is the exact same monitor i got em on the same weekrnd i dont think is cuz is older how do i change the resolution

Case 1. Your Video Card doesn't support that resolution (above replier).

Case 2. You don't have the proper driver or update installed. If this is the case you need to download the driver from the manufacturer's website. If you don't know what your card is then go to Start >> all programs >> accessories >> system tools >> system information. On the left menu you will find a tree, choose components >> display. This will show you what Windows thinks your card is.

Case 3. You just need to change the resolution setting, click right on the desktop and go to properties. Click the Settings tab and Increasethe Screen resolution setting.

well all i can think of are yur video cards might be differnt the one that doesnt work might have a older video card
