A head is the rostral most part of an organism often containing specialized sensory organs, brain, mouth... etc.

Not all organisms have a head.

The advantages of having a head include:
o close coordination of specialized senses with brain
o only having to protect one part of the body very well above other (more disposable) parts

The disadvantages of having a head include:
o All your eggs in one basket - beheading an organism with a head usually kills it - or at least deprives it of specialized functions
