Yes. I'm especially uncomfortable with the part of the Patriot Act regarding appointment and firing of US attorneys which the Senate overturned 94-2. Why the heck was that in the "Patriot Act"? And now they can't keep their stories straight. At the "pleasure of the president" but the president didn't know anything about it? He had given the responsibility to Gonzales but Gonzales didn't know anything about it? Gonzales aide fired them for cause, then said he didn't have cause? The emails that have been received-but many are missing-point to Rove, Gonzales and Bush involvement. So which is it?

It seems this is just the latest installment of how Rove and company is betting on their idea that Americans are as dumb as bricks.
How dare anyone plan a future on that. Asleep at the wheel maybe...but the giant has been awakened.
The "don't mess with us" movement will bite the religious right directly in the butt. Honor will be the thread that connects us all.

The only mess up was Gonzalez came out and apologized for something that didn't happen. First of all, those people are appointed and serve at the Presidents leisure. Clinton fired 93 of them his first term in office. You don't have to have a reason, you can call them and tell them pack it up and go home.
So, no harm no foul and I blame the Democrats, which I hate to say it I am one, conservative though I am, for trying to make something out of nothing and using it for political gain. They are in the pockets of labor unions, have the welfare vote and think they are the best thing around. I think all politicians in office need to be fired and the people vote a whole new bunch into office.

This is a classic case of "much ado about nothing," These people were fired and were fired legally. There didn't need to be a good reason, a verifiable reason, an understandable reason. Shoot, it's an 'at will' situation, they could have been fired because someone at the top didn't like the shirt they were wearing.
It might not be fair and we might not like it but that's the way that it is so why is there such a fuss?

My level of trust not only for Bush and company but all of the government officials has been at an all time low for some time now. I could hardly say I trust them less when in reality I never trusted them.

Not really. In terms of political hardball, outing a CIA agent or raising the terror alert level purely for political reasons far outweighs this.

No, I really haven't trusted them for a long time. This is fairly mild compared to other things they've done. Remember the Bird Flu? Whatever happened to that?

Why should a person invoking their rights under the constitution make me hate them. Wasn't it the left that claimed those rights were gone, why the hypocrite about face from the left.
