Choosing the nationality you would rather be is like not accepting the person that you are and trying to be like someone else better...a movie star perhaps or a famous celebrity.

As individuals we should accept what we are, make the most of what we have and be the best we can be. We honor individuals whose successes are contributing factors to our communities. Our nations lean on the achievements of our communities. And as our nation contributes to the world we take pride as a people. Then the world honors our nation.

By making better individuals of what we are, even in our own little way, we are then the best people of the world. The "preferred nationality".

After having lived 52 years, and many of those years living in various countries of the Middle East and Europe, I would have to say without reservation If I had the choice , I would choose to be an ....AMERICAN! its amazing, I didn't use to feel that way, but the truth is that as an American there are more doors open and opportunities available to you than anywhere else in the world!

Having lived in many other nations I am always amazed at the lines outside the US Embassies around the world by people hoping and praying that just maybe, somehow, by some miracle they are going to get a visa to come to America! Its amazing to see how many people are willing to risk everything even their lives just to get here!

The Beauty of being an American is tha if you are very free to travel the world, almost every country is glad to have you as a visitor , and even treat you with deferrrence!

Yes definitely American, trite as that may sound! Especially coming from someone who is living in Germany!

What's the whole point of choosing a nationality? We are divided into different countries only for better administration, not for divide and rule. I'm an indian, and i think i'll stick with it. It's true that Germany provides better infrastructure, Netherlands provides better for Human Development, United States of America has a lot less population, and Singapore has a lot less corruption, but being a common-man, how directly does this affect me? Of course, poverty and corruption is disturbing and i sometimes take to activism, but nationality isn't really a huge choice to make, unless u r employed elsewhere than your own home. Well, my answers' kinda topsy-turvy, but i hope i got my point across.
