The voice that used to be used for the laughing policeman.
really was a policeman who came from a small welsh village. and was renowned for always laughing. The village was next to a river which flooded and washed out much of the town. killing many of the inhabitants.
He [the policeman] ended his life in a lunatic asylum

This is a true story

I would be scared the living daylights out of me.I would never laugh because its unsanitary for police men and women to laugh.Althought if its a policewoman I might make an exception because police men NEVER LAUGH.

I remember being terrified of the one outside Blackpool Tower as a child.......... I think it was the maniacal smile on that painted face! I hated clowns too!
As an adult I find it irritating! The song however does make me laugh!

I think he might of scared me as a kid, but my Nana, always used to (litterally) roll on the floor laughing at him, pretty hard to be scared of something that has that affect on a relative.

They have one on Southport pier(UK), a real creaky old one, & everytime I visit I have to go & put some money in, it always brings a smile to my face,............................... great memories of my nutty old Nana
