Nope, you can't. The male will attack and kill the female unless they are both in breeding condition in which case they will breed then he will attack and kill her.
The only group of bettas that works for long term keeping is a group of females.

Yes, it is compltely do-able. The only thing is, you have to make sure that the male and female are both very young. If they are too old, they are probably stuck in thier ways and are way too vicious to do anything with. Next, you gotta make sure you have a decent enough sixed tank and a bunch of things to hide and and swim around. Think about it, with nothing in a tank you can see everything and makes the area look smaller, with things in the way, bettas can create territories and gives them allot more stuff in the way o hide around if being persued. Next, go get a seperator of some sort, my store sells a net seperator for about 1.50, easy to assembly. then just let the male in the large tank and the female in the seperator. Make sure you have properly set up your tank (cycling the water, adding water treatment chemicals to detoxify the water and also keep in mind bettas dont like strong water flow, but then again a slightly stronger current than normal has been known to interfere with chasings.) Now when all thats done, you want to make sure you watch thier aggression. Naturally they will be aggressive towards eachother at first. But eventually they should kinda get used to eachother. But keep in mind, they might only tollerate eachother for now because they are young and want o mate. So watch for huge bubble nests meaning the male is ready for it and if the female is dark boddied you can see vertical stripes on her meaning she is ready to mate. But basically you want to make sure to keep them seperated until you are sure they are used to eachother. It can take up to 4 months or so as odd as it sounds but keep in mind you are trying to reverse thier natural instincts to kill or mate. Now some bettas are too vicious so always watch, always be careful and when you do finally release her into the tank, always watch her too, and for the first week or so, dont leave her alone with him in the tank, i have woken to a half dead betta before when the couple had no signs of aggression. Bottom line, this is extremely risky and takes allot of time. If you cant put your heart and soul into it, then honestly i would just suggest setting up a community tank with mollies and guppies and tetras, etc. with one male betta. That is the best way to have a betta with additional fish. Hope this helps!

Yes. You can place male Bettas in the tank with other fish and they are fine. You can't put two males in a tank together because they will fight to the death.

Yes,but not always. One male only per tank or enclosure. They must be together ;male and female;to breed. The male will bully females if they don't submit to his advances,so keep watch for possible aggression. Also, sometimes females will show aggression towards one another if they become rivals.

Yes, It is best to keep 3-4 females with one male though. The male will chase the female constantly trying to mate , if there are several females it gives each of them a break from his tail chasing ways. After they mate remove the male or he will kill them.

I think they can. I used to have bettas once but they were both male and we had to separte them. But since they are the opposite sex, it's possible. Its like two opposite attractions: North attracts with South but North cannot attract with North. I guess thats just the way God made fish. So i suppose you can, because with any other kind of fish, you can stick a female with a male and without them fighting. but... this is just what i think.

I would not put them in the same tank unless you are breeding them.

yes, the reason they fight is for space and over females so i would think you can put them together and if how else do they breed

I believe so... because if you have two males then one eventually will die because of the fighting. But I'm pretty sure that they wont fight...
