Most of the issues from the right are controversial only to them. The two most stupid ones are political correctness and the war on christmas. Neither is real - they just made them up to fire up the faithful.

Gay marriage. It is simply a wedge issue. Marriage should not be handled by the state. It is a Religious Sacrament and Religions should determine who can get married. States should approve civil contracts or civil unions and there should be no discrimination as to sex, marital status, or sexual orientation.

I care about most controversial issues. Why? Because controversial issues generally have an impact on our lives. I can't think of one big one that I don't care about.

Same sex marriage.
Why is this such a huge deal. Why would anyone say that someone esle can't marry who they want, when this doesn't effect them in anyway?!?!!?
I'm straight and happily married, but I could really care less if two men or two women who are in love get married. How is this any of my business and who am I (or anyone else) to say they shouldn't?

Gay marriage. the death of Anna Nicole Smith, abortion, politicians' personal lives so long as it does not violate any laws or the rights of others. Politician's medical issues so long as it does not interfere with how they do their job.
