A belly ring is just like an earring in the sense that when you first get it, it must be left in place for 6 weeks. I have both the top and bottom of my belly pierced. While of of the country I had to take both rings out for a little over two weeks, when I got back it was hard to put the tins back in. I used a round toothpick with Vaseline to reopen the hole. Make sure you use some kind of germ killer once you put the rings back in. The reason it closed is because your body sees at as a sore and works to close it to protect against infection.

Unlike the tissue in our ears, the area where we pierce our belly repairs itself very quickly, therefore you cannot/should not remove the jewelry for more than 5-10 minutes, even when fully healed for 1 year ro more (basically just long enough to clean the area). You will have to have it re-pierced :(

it is probably because you have sensitive skin..... also it could because your body thinks it is a foreign object, so it is protecting itself
