Cute names but very confusing! Twins need to have their own identities and names that don't sound so similar :) Now if she is set on these names you could shorten them:
Alexander-->Alex
Alexandria--> Lexie, Lex, Allie, Andrea
Here are some middle names for them:
Alexander Scott and Alexandria Grace
Alexander Quinn and Alexandria Tatum
Alexander Daniel and Alexandria Anne
Here are a few other suggestions:
Elizabeth Grace and Benjamin Joesph
*Liza and Ben, Ellie and Ben*
Sophia Anne and Alexander Thomas
Shauna Kathryn and Aidan Cole
Alexandria Tatum and Thomas Jackson
Amelia Beth and Alexander Scott
Alexandria Naomi and Bryan Michael

i have twins boy/girl with non alike names,my sis in-law has five kids and four have a "ee" sound on the end..thats confusing..personally if i was going to use similar sounding names Alexander and Alexandria would be the two,at least there are lots of other names you can derive from it..Xander and Lexie?? It won't matter anyway at some stage they will hate their names no matter what...I have heard of a family where all the names began with the same letter....poor postman..

I think that naming them similiar names can be very cute but these are a little too close...
If she does go with them maybe you could suggest very different nicknames...
Ally and Alex
Lexi and Xan
I love Alexander but I don't care for Alexandria.
How about:
Alyssa and Alexander
Olivia and Alexander
Isabella and Alexander
Similiar names that are cute but not AS close...
Cameron and Carter
Nataleigh and Nicholas
Kylee and Kaden
Brenna and Braedon
Ava and Aaron
Isabella and Isaac (Isaiah)
Hannah and Hayden
Lilly and Landon
Good Luck! SD

Way too similar. They might both end up being called Alex, and what kid wants the same name as their sibling. She could always pick one or the other and pair it with another A name. Like:
Alexander and Ainsley
Alexander and Ava
Alexander and Addison
Alexandria and Aidan
Alexandria and Anthony
Alexandria and Aaron

Yes, that would definitely be too confusing, my name is Alexandra and there are 2 Alexanders and an Alexandria that I know and they are referred to as "Alex" but I always respond when someone else is talking to them, its too complicated. If she wants to go with the "A" initial, here's some suggestions...
Aaron,
Abby,
Abe,
Adam,
Arianna,
Amanda,
Andrea,
Andrew,
Amy (Aimee),
Alicia,
Alyssa,
Anastasia,
Angelina,
Annie,
April,
Arlene,
Avery,
Ashley
As for middle names, anything goes. But a word of advice- If she is going with a first name with many syllables like Alexandria, then pick a middle name with less syllables. Such as Alexandria Jane, as opposed to Alexandria Jennifer.
Well, good luck!

I think its a terrible idea - the names are practically the same. Growing up I had a childhood friend named Kristen and her brother's name was Christopher; even that is too close for me.
I have twin cousins. Their names are Lisa and Erin. They really appreciate having different names. It helps in identifying themselves as individuals and not a duo.
These are too separate children. They will have separate personalities and lives. I think it irresponsible to give them such similar names.

If she wants to name her children Alexander and Alexandria I think it is fine. Personally I like the names. Maybe she can give them the nicknames. For the boy Xander and for the girl Alex

yes I agree that the names are way to similar to each other. I assume that one baby is a boy and the other is a girl.
I do have a suggestion if she insists on the names.
Nicknames for the boy would be Alex. and the girl Lexy or even andria
Otherwise
Alexander & Sandra
Alexandrina & Taylor

If they r close in age it will totally be confusing and one would end up being called Alex anyway! For a girl I love the name Jenna or Kaylee. Boys I love the classic name Michael or Kaleb

A little, but it is cute. How about Taylor and Tyler or Joseph and Josephina, or Jonah and Joannah,
or Voncent and Vicky or Andrew and Andrea (nicknames both Andy). Oliver an Olivia, James and Jamie, Patirck and Patricia. congrats!
