LASER has many applications in medicine. I'm sure there are some good applications in biology too.

In Medicine, LASER is used to cut, cauterise and coagulate. It is occasionally used in surgery to provide haemostasis - stop the patient bleeding all over the place (blood in the way can stop the surgeon from seeing what they are doing).

The coagulation property has enabled eye specialists to use laser to "weld together" delicate tissues such as the retina of the eye.

Laser resurfacing is used to remove scars from skin.

Eye specialists use laser techniques on the cornea of the eye to adjust the cornea for nearsightedness and farsightedness.

I read that there is a laser microscalpel that is used in cellular biology to make tiny cuts in cells.
