EG8 1.5 Single Cam Fuel Injected auomatic Civic....if i start my car in the morning or any other time when the engine is cold & i mash the accelerator peddle straight down at once the engine stalls & makes a back firing noise through the intake....but remains idling...is that normal...? or is it the fuel pressure regulator sending too much fuel to the fuel rail...ALL parts still to it's Original state? The engine also trembles during driving....can't seem to figure that problem out yet...help..!!

I'm not sure what your problem is but i dought it's the pressure regulator. sounds more like throttle position sensor or egr valve. good luck

when the engine is cold (aka cold coolant) your ignition is advanced pretty high and basically thats the reason the car runs since your throttle is fully closed at idle. When you mash the pedal, the TPS recognizes that your throttle is fully open and the ECU tries to compensate for the change in TPS signal and the "just changed engine load". The sputtering is due to the incorrect fuel dumping (which is normal) so dont worry.

Just let the car warm up to its normal operating temperature before you start experimenting.

1. It's not normal
2. It's not fuel regulator.
I'd suspect the upper O2 sensor or an EGR valve which is extremely uncommon.
Wait until check engine light comes on, and check for codes, don't throw parts at it unless you know exactly what's going on!

pull the plugs and look at the condition/color of the tip, that will tell you if you are running rich or lean. Could be injector clogged and your not getting enough fuel.
