Emotional abuse pretty much results from either verbal or physical abuse and can damage a childs ego. Physical is pretty much self explanatory, besides mild spanking everything else can be construed as physical abuse especially when bruises and broken bones result. Verbal abuse is hollering at the child for no apparent reason or constantly putting him down; like hes too fat, no good, will never be anything, no one likes him ,etc especially around friends. This is why we have judges who decide what constitutes abuse and the severity level of each and the type and how much damage has been done via medical professionals at his disposal. Hope this helps some

All that you mentioned, as well as neglect and sexual are considered to be child abuses, but refrain from worrying about it when typical situations occur, such as swatting your child on the behind as punishment for extremely unacceptable behavior is not child abuse, nor are verbal warnings such as: Stop it this minute! Or you'll be sorry! Depending on the extent of a child's actions, it's often necessary to subdue a child providing the child is attempting to inflict physical harm upon others, and at times children can't seem to stop crying for various emotional experiences, thus in most cases it's best to allow them time alone, usually in their own bedrooms, in order to cry it out, so to speak, so just use common sense and all should go well for you.

It is abuse to treat someone in any way that causes them any kind of harm. And keeping in mind that children are very resilliant in all three ways, and all children need direction and discipline, it is the excess of that, whether it is said, or a look, or the type of punishment, that is considered abuse. But how about this: It is abuse when any action is taken toward a child that is not with their well being or safety in mind. Cause if you're not trying to help them, you're hurting them. that help? Maybe be a little more specific in your question?

All three can be considered child abuse. There's a way to do everything. Harshness isn't a virtue.
