Four years is the length of term... A president can serve 2 consecutive terms... A vice president can serve two terms as vice president and then also a term for president. Pretty sure that is how it works.

Must be a US Citizen and can take office after he/she is 35 yrs old.

A presidents term is 4 years & always has been. Presidential elections occur in every year that is an integer multipe of 4.

Presidents are now limited to 2 terms by

Amendment 22 - Presidential Term Limits. Ratified 2/27/1951. History

1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

A president can only elected to two terms of 4 years each pursuant to the 22nd amendment to the Constitution. If a vice president becomes president, they can serve a total of 10 years. "No person who has held the office of President, or acted as President for more than 2 years of a term to which some other person was elected president shall be elected to the office of president more than once." Therefore, if a president dies in the first year of his term, for example, the vice president can only run for office once. If a vice president assumes the role of a president who has served more than 2 years, the vice president can stand for election twice.

Technically they could serve an infinite huge type, yet they could purely be elected two times (or once though they have already served more effective than 2 years after ascending to the place of work, in the adventure that they achieve this by technique of non-elected potential (mutually with being the vice chairman at the same time as the president dies). the purely way someone could serve more effective than 2 4-3 hundred and sixty 5 days words is by technique of ascending by non-elected potential. as an instance, you'd be elected president two times (for 2 4-3 hundred and sixty 5 days words), then could be elected vice chairman and infinite form of cases, each and every time as ascending to the presidency because of the president resigning, demise, etc. for sure, it is a in complication-free words theoretical construct; at this factor it can be surely exceptional for a former president to run as vice chairman.
