I have heard people slag other people's kids off calling them ugly or saying that they aren't really attractive and it makes my blood boil! I have heard people say it about week old babies, like you can tell how they are gonna look at that age! I think it is just mean spirited and evil and I think it betrays a real mean streak in a person. Do they look at kids with certain medical conditions which affect the way they look and think that way about them? I believe all children are beautiful and it shows what a sick society we live in where people who are parents themselves will slag off another person's kid for the way they look!
If I heard someone had said that about my kids I don't think I woul;d be responsible for my actions!

Yes I agree that those people are simple minded and are, I expect, very jealous and ugly on the inside themselves.
Both of my babies were not too bonny initially, oh my how they blossomed. The beauty is in their little mannerisms and their cute way of manipulating us from birth.
I have seen some of the bonniest babies grow up to be real ugly ducklings, with no personality or sensibility, thanks to their parents.
All babies and children are unique, precious and require nurturing to become fulfilled adults in the end.

Yes, very annoyed and upset.
First off, it is rude to make personal comments about children whether they, or their parents, are present or not. Very rude, and that should go without saying.
Secondly, while we are visual beings, we teach our children, rightly, that beauty of character is the most important.
Children are born beautiful and will remain so until someone puts ugly thoughts into their head.
There are many visually attractive people who are ugly, simply by their actions, intentions and deeds (this would include people who would make such comments against a child)
Conversely, there are many people are perhaps not much to look at (for whatever reason) who are the purest of heart and the kindest of character. This makes them the most beautiful people in the world. It trumps good looks.
We are a society preoccupied with looks. And until we get past this, we will always be a wretched people!

I'm a bit undecided, sometimes if we're honest we all may think something but we don't actually say it.
My collegue at work had a baby about 3 years ago, and no i wouldn't of said it was Ugly, but i have saw alot cuter babies.
As the baby grew up to a toddler and the mother keep bringin in pictures of the child I began to realise that I had never once seen a picture of this child smiling - not once.
So one day she brought in yet more pictures of the child , we were all sat around the table looking at the pictures, and when we had finished the mother of the child left the table. everyone all looked at each other, no one said a word, but we all started to laugh at the same time. Because we were all thinking the same thing. Then one of us was actually open enough to say what we where thinking. "god that child has never smiled"! she's not the prettiest of wee girls she is always so grumpy looking" and a full discussion started on a subject that we had all wanted to comment on for about 3 years!! I was such a relief.

It is so sad, when anyone says a Child is ugly or not attractive or cute. I have seen hundreds of Children and they are all cute. Their tiny noses, and cute little faces. How could anyone be so cruel and even think this. I agree with you. Poor little babies and then someone de-grading their innocent, sweet faces. Each Little Child, has a precious look all of their own. So sad, when a tiny baby is born, not even two months old and some one says negative things in the Sweet Child's , new life. Hopefully, their families, will develope a positive life for them.

I think you are way over reacting. So someone has the opinion that a child is ugly - so what, as long as they are not dumping the information on the child, in which case that would be cruel. Having a strong judgement about the way other people are does nothing except give you negative feelings. And why would you be so angry if someone said your kids were ugly. Surely if you believe them to be beautiful it would make no difference what someone else thought. Human beings do discriminate on the grounds of appearance - they allways have and allways will - its part of our survival instinct.

A woman [x-friend] said to me out of the blue,
"your ...... was an ugly baby really don't you think" We were looking at photo's of my daughter from when she was first born.
I went mad and said some really horrid thing's to this woman. She had been trying for a baby for year's and had not been able to concieve I think she was bitter and twisted and told her so. My daughter is 27 now and I still don't talk to this woman when I see her, I should feel sorry for her but my kid was angelic looking and is a fine looking young woman now.
We were very good friend's and I have never understood why she said this. The COW......

its all down to jealousy when i had my daughter she had a mass of black hair on her head and i heard an other mother saying to her family she doesn't look like a baby cause of her hair typically her baby was bald but every bit a nice as my daughter well now im telling a lie you own child is always the best but others are just as nice

i totally agree, i have a 3 year old boy and im sure if i over heard anyone say anything like "he's ugly" or something similar, i would really lose it, and of course, theres absolutely NO WAY i could ever slag off someone else's kid, thats so incredibly low...

I heard that is bad luck because the person saying those things could end up with the ugly children. I just dont see how babies can be ugly. they are all cute

I wouldn`t be so cruel to say it out loud .and i wouldn`t even think a tiny baby was ugly but the fact is compared to mine i never see any that even come close to mine in good looks cuteness or anything sorry
