I would like to get in contact with an ex lover and i need to know whether or not to text him. Hes not replying to his mobile so i'm assuming hes got a new one he doesnt know my number and so doesnt know its me texting. But i havent seen him in about 2 years. I would love to make contact again even just as friends. What do i do? Text his house phone and leave my number? Phone his house phone and hope hes there still? Help!!!

you can text house phones actually, just that the message is read out by Tom Baker [thats if you're in the UK] instead of reading it like on a mobile. but anyhows, he could have settled down or have a family now. would you want to risk causing a lot of trouble? I'm not saying don't keep trying, but you need to find out first before steaming in & maybe causing arguements or something like that with maybe a wife.

You could phone his mobile- if it rings, hes just ignoring you.

But to be fair, its been 2 years. If he wanted to speak to you, he'd have got in touch. Hes probably moved on, with someone else. I wouldnt phone/text the house.
I wouldnt get your hopes up either. 2 years is along time.

Two years is a long time. It should give you pause he has not
had you on an extended friendship basis and you would have a valid telephone number. I'd call a two year separation as
'a whithered vine'. Be careful what you wish for.

I didn't know you could text house phones.
Just give up on him... if he is an ex... things apparently didn't work out right..

Hm... people on here can get desperate

Phone him. If it isn't him, the other person doesn't know you so don't worry. If you text and he doesn't reply, you'll never really be totally sure he got the message.

Call him or leave him alone!!! There is no time to be trying to text him. Stop being afraid. If you really want to talk to him then fo just that! Do it quick! Time is of the essence!

Did you put your name at the end of the text?Or maybe start with "Hi,It's ____.Blah Blah".If he still doesn't reply,it's pretty clear he doesn't wanna catch up,so the answer is,No-don't text his house phone.
