The native Arawak Amerindians , the original inhabitants of Haiti,were virtually annihilated by Spanish settlers within 25 years. African slaves, brought by French colonists to work the plantations, intermarried with the remnants of the Arawak. The original homeland of the slaves was typically from west-central Africa. The kingdom of Kongo and Angola, where the slave trade flourished from about 1650 on.

Perhaps not directly from Africa (they could have gone to another country first), but they came as slaves. All the Caribbean Islanders were Native Americans. Most were completely wiped out by the Spanish.

Most of the slaves in what is now Haiti orginially came from the African Kingdoms on the west coast of Africa.
