They can not have democracy. They are crazy people (well, most of them). They need a strong dictator to keep them under control using terror. Look at Iraq know. It is all crazy, it was not like this when Saddam was in power.

Lebanon is already a democracy. As for the rest, America can push both Gulf states and Egypt to have democratic societies.
The main problem is that the ruling regimes are pro selling out to America. And a democracy will result in the election of "Anti" American governments.
So basically America prefers it's own self interest over the promotion of democracy.

haha, they can't. give it 200 years and something maybe resembling democracy might pop up, but then again that's not what they want so maybe never.
