I bought a laptop a couple of days ago and since yesterday everytime i turn it on it displays a message that reeds " This driver is blocked due to compatibility issues" it says that a driver that is instaled causes a stability problem with your system...this driver will be disabled. It says it has no solutions for this problem. I must also add that the computer runs vista basic and its an inspiron 1501 from dell. Please help me if any more details are needed let me know and i will add them. Thank you so much......

That error is a problem with Update for Microsoft Windows (KB929427) and roxio drag to disk. Go here to download the latest patch from roxio (sonic)

It will take the old one off and put the new one on. You want to run it, click next, yes, continue etc. Trust me you will get a lot of popups from vista acting like do you really want to do this?! and yes trust me you do. you'll reboot and no more error

If you go to your Control Panel, under the Windows button, and click on Hardware and Sound, then scroll down to click on Device Manager, you will probably get a permission window which you will click Continue. There will be a list of all the hardware on your computer, most likely you will see a triangle warning on an item. You should be able to see at least what the item is that's causing your errors. From there you can Un-install the Driver, which may be for some reason not installed correctly, then reboot and see if that works. If that doesn't work, you should be able to call Dell, and get support. Below is a link to Support for your computer, *** The Sonic Driver you mentioned is on the bottom link***Good Luck

Purchase A Windows XP Professional. Windows XP home, full version install CD and format the hdd then install the older operating system because Windows Vista(R) is still new tech and the "kinks" are not fully worked out of the software yet.
Alternately you could install Linux(R) or Apple(R) Macintosh(R) operating system's and have the benefit of fewer hackers targeting your computer because the last time I checked over 75% of computer viruses are written to destroy Microsoft Windows(R) operating system software. Sorry but the only solution currently available to you is to try a different operating system.
